چکیده
Background and aim: Homocysteine adropin effects on endothelial function are antagonistic. The current study aimed to evaluate the association between serum levels of homocysteine severity coronary artery disease (CAD) . Patients methods: This cross-sectional included 86 patients submitted angiography with ≥ 50% stenosis in one or more arteries. Serum Adropin were estimated. anatomical synergy percutaneous intervention taxus cardiac surgery (SYNTAX) score was utilized assess CAD. Results: According levels, they classified into normal (GI; n=54) hyperhomocysteinemia (GII; n=32). Comparison studied groups regarding clinical laboratory findings revealed that GI had significantly shorter duration diabetes (3.8 ± 5.3 versus 8.2 7.5 years, p=0.009), higher triglycerides (204.7 99.6 142.9 55.6 mg/dL, p=0.002), lower HbA1c (7.2 1.6 2.0%; p = 0.013) (7.4 2.5 ±1.0,

Association of Hyperhomocysteinemia with Coronary Artery Disease in Southern Iran
Background: Differences in the prevalence and impact of hyperhomocytenemia on vascular disease between countries and races have been reported. Most studies have been undertaken in North American and European populations and the importance of plasma total homocysteine (tHcy) level as a risk factor for coronary artery disease in the Middle East particularly in Iran, however, is not known. Object...

Dear Editor, In response to the criticisms regarding the article entitled; “association of hyperhomocysteinemia with coronary artery disease in Southern Iran”, published in Iran J Med Sci,1 we still believe the methodology used in this study was a case control design as the cases where chosen on the basis of outcome (coronary artery disease) and the controls were individuals without the disease...
متن کاملRelation between admission plasma fibrinogen levels and mortality in Chinese patients with coronary artery disease
Fibrinogen (Fib) was considered to be a potential risk factor for the prognosis of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD), but there was lack of the evidence from Chinese contemporary population. 3020 consecutive patients with CAD confirmed by coronary angiography were enrolled and were grouped into 2 categories by the optimal Fib cut-off value (3.17 g/L) for all-cause mortality prediction...
متن کاملEvaluation of iron status in patients with coronary artery disease
Background: Iron can causes lipid peroxidation in vivo and in vitro. Iron promotes myocardial injury in experimental animals. Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) oxidation by oxidants including iron have a central role in atherosclerotic process. By this means, evaluation of serum iron in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) has a significant importance. Materials and Methods: In this cross s...
